Doors and windows are such a popular and ubiquitous subject it would be close to impossible to find someone that resisted shooting something along these lines. It wouldn't be me since I've collected these since I was using film. More recently I've found that this theme can provide threads for learning how to build a coherent sequence, a skill I've been working on improving. Other photographers have build projects along a single street - an attractive concept. The concept of using a street (maybe a more virtual one) to tie together a theme or prompt is attractive, and use doors, windows and details as some of the building blocks.
